Shipments of handsets into China for the second quarter decreased by 16.4% when compared to the first quarter of 2008. "Nokia continued to dominate the GSM and overall handset market in China while Samsung moved past Motorola in GSM shipments to become the second largest vendor. Demand for Motorola GSM and CDMA handsets in China continued to show weakness. GSM shipments have dropped nearly 75% in volume on a quarterly basis from 2006 levels without any signs of a recovery.
